The longest barrier reef in the Western hemisphere makes for some of the best sport fishing in the world. All types of fishing are available, reef fishing, tarpon, bone, fly fishing and deep sea fishing.
The waters surrounding Ambergris Caye abound with a great variety of saltwater fish and most types of fish including bone and tarpon can be caught year-round.
The coral reefs support grouper, snapper, jacks and barracuda while the deeper waters are home to sailfish, marlin, pompano and bonito. The lagoons abound with bonefish, permit and barracuda and the mouths to many rivers are known for their tarpon, snook and jacks.

The complicated ecosystem of the reef supplies food and shelter to a huge variety of baitfish and small crustaceans that, in turn, attract larger predators. Therefore, sport fishing in Belize can be enjoyed all year long.
As English is the official language in Belize, you can easily communicate your passion for fishing to our many guides and boatmen.
